Paper aeroplane experiment

This is a typical set of experimental results from an A-level Physics course. Paper aeroplanes were constructed with a variety of wing areas and angles and then subjected to a series of timed drops.

The drop times have been plotted (blue crosses), and the built in GraPL trend line (flex curve - red line) has been used to smooth out the experimental results.

Rainfall

GraPL is the perfect tool for recording data from your weather station. The data sheets can be used to record the readings, the inbuilt calculation tools can be used to summarise the data and the advanced plotting engine can then chart the data in an easily readable form.

This chart accurately shows rainfall, daily and cumulative, for Gilling in North Yorkshire for 1999. It is included in the rainfall.gpl sample GraPL project.

Error bars

Error is an essential aspect of scientific measurement, and must be taken into account when interpreting experimental results. However it is very difficult to generate error bars in most charting software. GraPL makes this simple, giving you the tools you need to draw error bars, not only against the Y axis, but also the X axis!

Kite charts

Kite chart

Kite charts are the ideal way of presenting time-series data from a number of different measurements, such as multiple runs of an experiment.

GraPL has kite charts built in as a specific chart type, so you no longer have to try to line up multiple line charts to see your data, letting you concentrate analysing the graph, not drawing it.
