Vector Graphics on the Internet

Introduction

This section of the site is a short introduction to the two styles of vector graphics, with examples designed to show VML and SVG to good effect and to help you compare the two formats with the same chart saved as a PNG image. VML is well supported by IE5 on the Windows platform, and SVG is a cross-platform standard which is implemented by a free viewer from Adobe. All the examples on these pages can be created with the sample files included with GraPL (desktop edition).
